The drapery poles are available in three lengths, 4 ft., 6 ft., and 8 ft. These poles can either be joined or cut to fit your needs. For example if you need 10 feet you could join a 4 ft. pole and a 6 ft. pole or two 6 ft poles and cut some off at either end so your support will be in the middle for heavier drapery. These pole connectors are available to make this possible.
